TEACHER WANTED FOR FRIDAYS
Unfortunately Sean McQuaid will no longer be able to teach on a Friday evening (9th May will be his last session). Hertford swimming club is very grateful to him for all he has done and wish him well for the future. This does however leave a gap in our teaching resources on a Friday evening. Is there anyone with a Level 2 teaching qualification who would like to teach our juniors/development squad from 6 to 7? You would have the very able support of Jayne Rowe to help. Please speak to Margaret asap if you can help.

TEAM FOR PEANUTS R1 on SAT 10th MAY
Can be found here. Our opponents will be Stevenage A, Hoddesdon Eel, Watford, Cheshunt Black & Berkhampstead. Stevenage Pool, 6.30 for 7.00pm

MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING ON 14th APRIL
Summary here.

LOOKS LIKE WE DID IT!
It was an evening of calculators and badly bitten fingernails as Hertford’s swimmers clung on to their Div 1 status by the skin of their teeth. On the night Hertford finished on equal League points with Cheshunt A but just hung on to 10th place in the league (and safety!) by virtue of a lower gala points total of 476 to Cheshunt’s 502.5! Verulam are the other club to go down. Hertford’s swimmers managed 5 first places and 5 2nd places which was just enough to ensure survival in the top division for another year. First places went to Shelley Hyde (U12 Fly), Girls U12 medley & Free Teams (Sophie Thomson, Anna Denison, Shelley Hyde, Aimi de Rosa & Bethany Fitzsimmons) Girls U14 Free Team (Joanna Webb, Katie Burr, Ashley Ransome & Emma Lythaby) and the Girl’s Open Medley Team (Jade Abernethy, Caroline Moore, Judith Stephenson, Joanna Webb). Second places went to Emma Lythaby (U14 Back), Jade Abernethy (U16 Back), Caroline Moore (Open Breast), Girls U14 Medley Team (Zoe Parsons, Katie Burr, Ashley Ransome, Emma Lythaby) and the Girl’s Open Free Team (Joanna Webb, Jade Abernethy, Tiffany Price, Maddy Pearson). There was a new Club Record for Michael Carrier in the Butterfly and new junior records for Philip Murphy in the Breaststroke and Tom Hutchison in the Freestyle.
Final Results: 1st CoStA 131, 2nd Harpenden 143, 3rd Hertsmere 163, 4th Cheshunt A 177, 5th Hertford 188 6th Verulam 237.

BAGCATS RESULTS
Congratulations to Joe Cook who finished 3rd in the 9 year BAGCATS also to Ben Ransome (10) and Emma Lythaby (12) who both finished 8th in their age groups.

HELP NEEDED
Are there any parents out there who could help out at short notice on Tuesdays & Fridays? Occasionally we need to enlist the help on another adult in order to hold the session (eg when one of our coaches is not available). Otherwise we would have to cancel the session. You only need to sit on poolside, no teaching skills needed! If you are prepared to be contacted at short notice please give your name to Sue Morgan (or any committee member)

GEORGE EDWARDS GALA
Hertford finished in a strong 2nd place to Hoddesdon in the George Edwards Gala held at Haileybury on 12th April.
