Hoddesdon Open Meet

Saturday 23rd/Sunday 24t November 2019, Southbury Leisure Centre, Enfield

This year’s Hoddesdon County Qualifier OM was held at Southbury Leisure Centre, Enfield.

Hertford attended with a fantastic contingent of 48 swimmers (not including the swimmers who could not attend due to illnesses). The team looked great in the water and on poolside. Our swimmers, from across the board, are committing to competitions more and more and are gaining valuable experience in terms of how to face multiple events across the 4 strokes, making progress on various competitive areas.

Many PBs were achieved in the 2-day meet, as well as improved or newly acquired County Consideration or Qualification Times, and quite a few swimmers challenged themselves in races never swum before, including 200, 400 and 800m events! Well done to all that swam at the meet at this difficult time of the year and after many weeks of hard training!

The parental support over the weekend was nothing short of fantastic, with many supporting all Hertford swimmers and some helping on poolside as officials. Thank you to Jane O’Brien, Diana Metz, Rhys Roberts, Amanda Reason, Esther Smith, Hannah Tramontano, Rob Macrae for their contribution, and a special thank you to Tony Rymer for his longstanding support to the club.
