Swim Academy
Hertford Swimming Club Swim Academy is aimed at primary school years 1 to 4 and between swim stages 2 and 6. Our aim is to use our coaches knowledge and experience, at all levels of swimming, to give your child the best introduction to learning to swim, and a foundation to become a strong swimmer.
Swimmers will progress through the Academy and then have the opportunity to join the junior ‘Squads’ for increased training and competition, if they wish to.
Sessions are 30mins between 4pm and 5.30 on Thursdays at Simon Balle School pool.
We are seeking children in primary school years 1-4 who already have water confidence and can largely support themselves in the water with minimal floatation devices.
Children in primary year 5 and above who are not already stage 6 cannot be considered for Academy swimming. For any children
at stage 6, we encourage you to request a trial for our junior squads. Please contact Jenny at: trials@hertfordsc.co.uk
- Parking is available on site.
- There will be three groups per session, swimming simultaneously. Each group will have approx 8 swimmers.
- Membership is with Hertford Swimming Club and payment is by monthly direct debit only.
- Cancellation requires 4 weeks notification, effective from the first of the month, to our club treasurer at: Treasurer@hertfordsc.co.uk
- All HSC policies and terms & conditions are applicable to membership and are available from our website.
- Swim England charge an annual fee, due in January of each year, which HSC will pass on to members with a small admin fee. This annual fee is £35 and includes all club/swimmer insurances
- HSC should be notified of any medical and disability details at the point of joining.
- There is limited seating inside for parents / guardians to watch.There are changing facilities and showers on site.
- Swimmers should ideally have goggles and swim hat for long hair.
