Saturday 14th December 2019, Southbury Leisure Centre, Enfield
On Saturday 14th December 2019, the 3rd and last round of the National Arena Swimming League 2019 took place. Hertford SC swam at Southbury Leisure Centre, Enfield and competed against, Bushey, Potters Bar B, Tring, Verulam and Ware.
The team spirit on poolside was exceptional and I am sure that many will have lost their voice through the superb (and loud!) cheering on their teammates!
On the night we secured a 2nd place with 179 points, behind Verulam (1st, 194) and in front of Tring (3rd, 173), Bushey (4th, 170), Potters Bar B (5th, 170) and Ware (6th, 147). Hertford achieved a total of seven 1st, eleven 2nd and nine 3rd places.
The team performed extremely well, considering that we are at the end of a long term of school / university and swimming: our swimmers showed incredible loyalty to the club, by competing through illnesses, Christmas engagements and personal commitments. For this I am extremely grateful, and would like to compliment the swimmers that have managed to keep a high percentage of attendance to training over the past few weeks.
Sadie Moore, who performed brilliantly and was the loudest on pool side cheering on the team, was rewarded with the Hertford Teddy.
I would like to thank all swimmers and their families for their support across the 3 rounds of Arena League this year, and a special thank you to all the coaches, poolside helpers and particularly Rachel Fabri, whose team management quality is of the highest standards!
I wish all at Hertford SC the very best for the festive period and for a successful and happy 2020!
