British Nationals

This year they have removed the qualifying times for Nationals and under the new structure, 24 over 19 year old swimmers qualify for the British Nationals, and the next 20 over 18’s, which makes it even harder to qualify as there’s even more competition, go to the ASA English Summer Nationals. Both Sarah O'Brien & Ashley Ransome have qualified for the ASA Summer Nationals in the 50m Breast at Sheffield on Friday 7th August.

There was a 10 week qualifying window where only long course meet times counted and as both Sarah and Ashley produced big BP’s at the East Region Championships at the beginning of May, it was a long months wait until both swimmers were confirmed qualifiers for the Championships which was announced this week. This was especially pleasing for Sarah as she has been struggling with an injury which prevented her from training as hard as usual and to qualify was therefore even harder. With Ashley finishing 25th in Britain and therefore missing out by one place for the British Championships in July, she will compete along side Sarah at the ASA English Summer Nationals.

This is the highest level both girls have ever competed at and we wish them luck.
