Sunday 8th December 2019, Luton
Sunday 8th December 2019 was the last day of the Counties 2020 qualification window. Hertford SC wanted to make the most of the first term of training in the 2019-2020 season, by attending the Luton Winter Development Open Meet.
A contingent of 35 swimmers attended the meet across the board, from the experienced Seniors swimmers to some ‘first timers’: congratulations to Joseph Ainger and Alice Redhead on doing so well on their very first swimming competitive experience!
Once again, the coaching team was pleased to observe significant improvement in the quality and speed of racing from the swimmers. On the day, 68 Personal Best times (PBs) were recorded.
With the swimming season in full swing, Hertford swimmers achieved or improved on consideration (CCTs) or qualification (CQTs) times for the upcoming Hertfordshire County Championships 2020. Congratulations to Ellie Sopala, Laura Malagoli, Joe Reynolds and Joshua Holland on achieving CQTs: Joshua and Joe also achieved Regional qualification times in the 50 free and 50 breast, respectively. And congratulations to Kye Parsonson, Leonardo Malagoli, Jack Blake, Joe Reynolds, Henry Roberts, Ciaran Whatmore, Joshua Holland, Troy Metz, Laura Malagoli, Matilda Tramontano Wells, Ella Cannell, Isla Cavill and Georgie Marsden for acquiring or improving their CCTs in multiple events.
I would like to thank all the swimmers and parents for their continuously renovated commitment to swimming – training and competition: it is genuinely a pleasure to watch the swimmers improve consistently. Also, importantly, the team spirit on pool side was exceptional, with swimmers supporting each other and cheering on teammates of all ages. Well done all!
