Herts County Development Camps 2026

On Saturday, 21st February, the first of three Herts County Development Camps was hosted at Haileybury college. The county development programme takes the top 18 boys and 18 girls in the county, based on their 200 IM times and who were born in 2013.  Hertford SC  were represented by Billy Marsden and Izaak Wilsher.

The aim is to both upskill them as swimmers but also to start developing an holistic approach to what it takes to become a top athlete. This camp focused on key swim aspects such as starts, underwater phases and turns, whilst classroom sessions focused on the development pathway ahead of them, athlete culture and an introduction to nutrition.

We all had terrific day with lots of learning both inside the classroom and in the

fantastic pool. Our swim sessions focused on the importance of developing

the underwater dolphin kick and improving tumble turns, whilst our land

training centered around RMAP. The kids were a fantastic bunch, all very

positive and motivated . It was great to see them making new connections with

each other.

We’re happy to take any feedback you have, to help us improve for our future

camps. See you all again on 18-April.
